Davide is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam, working in the Quantum Gases & Quantum Information group led by prof. Florian Schreck.
He got his bachelor’s at University of Modena and it’s master’s at University of Milan. The master’s curricula was focused more on theoretical aspects of optics and quantum information. He gained interest in experimental atomic physics while working at his master thesis, in collaboration with TU Wien.
His research focuses on the realization of a continuous atom laser, the matter-wave analogue of an optical laser. A similar device has enormous potential for application in precision sensing and atom interferometry, in particular on the measurement of inertial effects such as acceleration and rotation.
